Hen capacity (manufacturer) Stated as 2–4 in the listing title and 3–6 in the description — the two disagree

Capacity math from the manufacturer's own square footage: 13.2 sq ft of coop at 4 sq ft per standard hen is three birds; 20.8 sq ft of run at 8 sq ft per bird is two to three. So 2–4 hens is the honest number and 3–6 only works if they are out in the yard most of the day. We've listed the lower figure.

Wheels Built-in

The manufacturer describes straightforward bolt-together assembly but does not state carton count or assembly time. Assembly is required. Bolt-together is the friendlier kind of flat-pack — a socket wrench beats a hundred screws — but it is still a two-person job at 95 inches.

Slide the waste tray out weekly and rinse it; the sloped roof handles itself but sweep leaves off it in autumn so the pitch keeps working. Keep the run end on grass you're happy to lose for a few days, then move it. At 31.5 inches wide it fits down most side passages, which is unusual for a coop this long.

These are long, heavy, flat-packed cartons, so they travel by freight rather than parcel post. We confirm your delivery window in writing once your order is placed, and you get tracking as soon as the cartons leave the warehouse. If we can't meet the window we gave you, we'll tell you and you can cancel for a full refund.

Plan to be there when it arrives. Freight is a kerbside delivery — the driver is not carrying a 95-inch carton round the back for you.
