Six free coop plans (PDF)

Six coop plans, free, as a printable PDF

Two of the six are moveable builds — a tractor and a wheeled coop — because that's the part most plan collections skip. The other four are fixed coops at sizes that suit an ordinary backyard flock.

Every plan comes with a materials list, cut dimensions, and the hen capacity worked out at 4 sq ft of coop and 8–10 sq ft of run per standard bird, so you can see what you're actually building before you buy lumber.

What it isn't

We'd rather you knew before you handed over an email address:

  • These are plans, not kits. No materials, no hardware, no pre-cut panels. You buy the lumber and the wire.
  • They aren't engineering drawings and they aren't stamped by anyone. If your county wants a permit for a structure this size, these won't satisfy it — check your local rules first.
  • Timber sizes and prices vary by region. The cut list is a starting point, not a receipt.
  • We haven't built all six ourselves.
