This is everything we sell, from $129 to $899, rated for anything from two hens to a forty-bird walk-in enclosure. Many of them move.

Every page carries the full dimensions, the capacity with our own arithmetic where it differs from the rating, and a Mobility Spec covering the wheels, the handle and whether one person can shift it.

How the range is organized

By how it moves, mostly, because that is the question most people start with.

What to check before you buy anything here

Three numbers, in this order:

  1. Coop square footage. 4 sq ft per standard hen is the rule of thumb, and a long coop is often mostly run.
  2. Run square footage. 8–10 sq ft per bird if they aren't free-ranging.
  3. The floor, if you want a chicken tractor rather than a coop on wheels. Ours all read "not published" today, and we explain why on the mobile coops page.

Assembly, before you order

Everything on this site arrives flat-packed and needs assembling.

Where a manufacturer publishes a build time we print it: one of them does, at about 40 minutes for two adults. Where they don't, we say that too, rather than promising you a quiet afternoon.

Coops that move

Wheels, handles and tow bars — move your flock to fresh grass.
